Adopt a Path

This scheme was set up in 1991 to encourage volunteers to regularly walk, ride or cycle a path of their choice, report any problems such as faulty stiles or gates, carry out any minor clearance of nettles and brambles and assist the Parish Rights of Way Liaison Officer with waymarking.

360 volunteers have now joined the scheme, adopting over 1500 paths around Dorset. With almost 3000 paths left to adopt, there's still time for you to become an adoptee.

If you would like to know more about adopting your favourite path please contact the Dorset Countryside Access Team on 01305 224463 or alternatively email them at dorsetcountryside@dorsetcc.gov.uk
