Premises Notice
A Notice on premises shall be displayed at a prominent place on the exterior of the premises where it can be conveniently read. The notice must be displayed for 28 days starting the day after the application is made. It must be
- A4 size or larger
- On pale blue paper
- Be legible and in font size 16 or larger
If the premises are a large premises which has more than 50 metres of frontage to a highway then the advert will be displayed every 50 metres.
Newspaper Notice
A Notice shall be placed in a local newspaper within the first 10 days (starting the day after the application is made).
Information to include in Both Notices
On a new application
- A statement of the relevant licensable activities or qualifying club activities
For an application for a variation
- A description of the proposed variation
In all notices
- The name of the applicant or club
- The postal address of the premises
- The address of the local authority – The Licensing Dept, North Dorset District Council, Nordon, Salisbury Road, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 7LL,
- The date by which representations can be made (28 days from the day after the application was given to the local authority, date must be inserted)
- That representations must be made in writing
- That it is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement and a person found guilty of such an offence is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale.
