Ashmore Village Hall and Recreation Ground

Project Description

Ashmore is a small village in North Dorset with only a pre World War 1 hut for community facilities in the village.  The project was to establish a new hall that could act as a focal point for village life, link with the recreation ground and provide faciltiies for all ages.  

It also aimed to encourage greater use of the Wessex Ridgeway Trail, which runs from Ashmore down to West Dorset, provide IT facilities for the community and improve the public open space around the hall with landscaping and planting.

Amount Awarded

£104,000 which represented 50% of the total cost.

Amount Levered

£60,000 from Dorset Community Action, and £54,000 from fundraising in the village.
