Electoral Registration

The Electoral Register is published on 1 December annually, and once it has been published it becomes a rolling register.

The annual canvass takes place during September, October and November each year and the main register is compiled from the information given at this time. Rolling registration is suspended while the annual canvass takes place.

Moving House?

Please don’t assume that if you have registered for Council Tax at your new address that your details will automatically change on the electoral register.

If you move between December and August you will need to fill in a rolling registration form. Each member of your household who is eligible to register will also need to complete a form.

If you are moving out of the area, you will need to contact the Electoral Services section of the district/borough council in the area you are moving to and they will inform us of the change when you register with them.
