Evaluation of the North Dorset Community Planning Model

An independent evaluation of community planning in North Dorset was undertaken in 2007 by Jeff Bishop of BDOR Ltd.  The report identifies the key successes and some areas which can be improved to ensure that the North Dorset Model continues to be an exemplar of good practice and is fit for purpose for the future.

The report found that nowhere else is there such a coherent overall approach to community planning.  It is working well, is flexible to meet the needs of the different parts of the district and is contributing to a growing sense of community confidence and capacity.  It is also delivering on many practical projects.  A small working group has been set up to action the recommendations.
