Three Rivers Partnership

The Three Rivers Partnership is the community partnership for Gillingham and the surrounding area of North Dorset.  It was set up in February 2003 with the objective of promoting the well being of the whole area.

It has received strong and continuing support from Gillingham Town Council, Dorset Community Action, North Dorset District Council and Dorset County Council.

Three Rivers is a registered charity and is strictly non-political.  Membership is open to all over the age of 18 living and working in the area.  A board of fifteen trustees, drawn from across the whole area, is elected by the membership.  All trustees service voluntarily.  Three Rivers Partnership is supported by a dedicated Community Development Worker, Susi Calder.

Working parties have been set up covering Leisure, Community & Sports Facilities; Open Spaces; Meeting Places; Children and Young People.

If you are not already a member but would like to join and have your say in the future of Gillingham, there is a membership application form available on the web-site.

Gillingham Area Action Plan

The Partnership has launched the Gillingham Area Action Plan for the town and its hinterland.  The Plan sets out to identify what are the most important local issues and what needs to be done to address them.  It will be used as a guide to both present and future needs in the area to advise local authorities and other bodies when developing their strategies.
