Local Action Groups

The North Dorset Community Safety Partnership has established local action groups, based on the areas covered by the local community partnerships. The Blandford Local Action Group (BLAG) is a subgroup of the DT11 Partnership and the Sturminster Newton Area Local Action Group (SNALAG) is  a sub group of Sturquest.

The local action groups co-ordinate efforts to reduce local crime as much more can be achieved through working in partnership than by individual organisation working alone. The local action groups involve the statutory partners (County Council, District Council, Police and Fire and Rescue Service) plus representatives from the public, private, business and voluntary sectors, representatives of community groups, crime prevention panels, and interested individuals.

How can I get involved?

If you are interested in joining a local action group in your area then please contact the Community Safety Officer at North Dorset District Council on (01258) 484368 or email us at communitysafety@north-dorset.gov.uk
