Dog Fouling

The main activity of the Dog Wardens is the enforcement of our Orders made under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 which require owners to clean up after their dog in most public places in the district.

The Wardens are able to issue £50 fixed penalty notices to offenders or if we decide prosecution in the Magistrates Court is appropriate then the maximum fine is £1000.

If you have any other queries about dogs, please contact the Council’s Dog Warden Service on (01258) 454111.

Please call Environmental Health at North Dorset District Council (01258) 484381 or e-mail us for more details of this service.
