Zoos

A Zoo is defined in the Zoo Licensing Act 1981 as any establishment where animals of wild species are exhibited to the public, with or without any charge on seven or more days in a twelve month period.  Circuses and pet shops are exempt.

There is an application fee and additional costs from the DEFRA veterinary inspections and advertising fees.  Planning and building control approval may be required.
