Health and Safety Enforcement at Caravan Sites

The enforcement of health and safety is split between the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authorities as follows:

Both the investigation of complaints and inspection of residential caravan sites is the responsibility of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The HSE can be contacted by telephone on 0117 9886000.

Caravan and camping sites for touring and holiday purposes are the responsibility of this authority for health and safety inspection, complaints and enquiries.

Please contact us if you are unsure about who is responsible for dealing with your enquiry.

Please call Environmental Health at North Dorset District Council (01258) 484381 or e-mail us for more details of this service.
