Licensing and Orders

The Council has a number of regulatory and registration powers and duties relating to licensing. We consider the licensing and registration of a wide range of people and premises.

Other licensing functions for which the Council is responsible include those relating to animal welfare, charitable collections and betting and gaming. We also licence taxi and private hire vehicles, drivers and operators.

We carry out enforcement of unlicensed activities and compliance with licence conditions and deal with street closures and street naming.
