Premises Licences

This licence is required for any premises where licensable activities take place and will be for unlimited duration. There are no statutory limits to the hours and days that businesses are able to provide licensable activities. Residents and businesses within the vicinity of the premises, as well as other authorities, can make representations about an application. Representations must relate to the licensing objectives and must not be frivolous or vexatious. Residents and businesses within the vicinity of the premises, as well as other authorities can call the licence for a review by completing the relevant form.

How to apply

To apply for a premises licence you will need to complete the relevant application forms and return them to the Licensing Department, North Dorset District Council, Nordon, Salisbury Road, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT11 7LL. The form must be accompanied by;

• The specified fee
• If alcohol is to be sold, the Designated Premises Supervisor Consent Form
• A plan of the premises
• The application must also be advertised
• A copy of the application and all relevant documents must be sent to the responsible authorities on the same day as you make your application
• If the Premises Licence is being varied or transferred the original Licence must be returned

An application will not be considered as received until the fee, plan and all other documentation have been received by the licensing authority.
