Sports Grounds

The Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sports Act 1987 and Safety at Sports Grounds Act 1975.

Under the 1975 Act the County Council has responsibility for issuing and enforcing a safety certificate in respect of sports grounds designated by the Secretary of State. The 1987 Act extended the responsibility to a wider range of sports grounds.
