Coast and Countryside
The coast and countryside are some of Dorset's best features and attract visitors from near and far alike. In North Dorset protecting and enhancing our local environment is one of our main priorities. In this section you can find out about open spaces in the District, including the protected Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There's information about the work of the Countryside Rangers as well as details on local wildlife, trailways, trees and hedgerows and landscape. Choose a link on the left for more information.
Our Customer Service Standards
We will strive to offer at all times:
- An accessible, informed and informative service to all across the district.
- A first port of call for advice, whether they be internal or external to NDDC.
- Relevant channels, whether through brochures, internet or face-to-face, to promote our services
- Providing advice and guidance to developers, communities, individual members of the public, councillors and officers of the Council.
- Working in partnership with external organisations and authorities
Target: To respond to letters and memoranda within ten working days, to answer telephone calls within fifteen seconds or provide a voicemail service, to provide officers and councillors with a response to consultations within ten working days.
Due to the nature of our work, core officers are frequently out of the office. However emails and telephone messages will be responded to as soon as is practically possible, in most cases during the next working day.
