Establishing a Section 106 Database Recording Information on Funds Recieved from Developers

Project Description

To update and extend the database used to record payments from developers towards community facilities in the District.

The Council collects financial contributions from developers  of any new residential development in the District to pay for community facilities.  The database was set up to record accurate information on all aspects of the agreements and its distribution.  

The Council appointed a student from Bournemouth University to help with this task, under the STEP project, which helps place students undertaking their first degree with an employer.

Performance Indicators

The Council is anxious to utilise the Section 106 funds available for the projects for which they are intended.  This database has allowe the Liveability Team as well as other officers an accurate profile of the funds available and how they can be utilised against other funds for the successful implementation of projects.
