Sturminster Community Centre

Project Description

The Trust aims to provide a multi-functional Community Centre on the old livestock market site in Sturminster Newton. The project will combine a community hall, community learning centre, covered market and exhibition area, community and town council offices and business starter units. The Centre will also enhance the adjoining Railway Gardens.

Amount Awarded

£341,000 - which included £41,000 towards the cost of bid-writers and project management costs. This represented 12% of the total overall cost for this project

Amount Levered

£2,244,700 in total, of which £1,140,000 had been secured at the time of awarding the grant.

  • Establishment of new community facilities

Lessons Learnt

This was a highly ambitious project but one that has a huge amount of local support, including a team of volunteer professionals who are helping to drive this project forward.
