We have four leisure centres based at:

• Blandford Forum
• Gillingham
• Sturminster Newton
• Shaftesbury

Our focus is on providing a good service to our customers and all staff are involved in some way in helping to deliver and improve the service.

Our mission for the centres is ‘Encouraging Active Lifestyles’ and is accompanied by a set of service standards which are very much about the service customers can expect from us. You will find a copy of our service standards enclosed here for your information.

The priorities for each year are set out in the ‘Leisure Centres Scoreboard’. The Scoreboard provides details of our priorities and actions required to achieve our priorities. A copy is enclosed for your information.

As part of North Dorset District Council we hold the ‘Investor In People’ standard which means we have demonstrated our commitment to good practices for everyone who works for us. In particular you can expect a detailed induction to understand our expectations and the requirements of the job, a personal development plan, regular feedback on your performance, annual appraisal and the opportunity to contribute your ideas to improving the services we offer.
