Farnham Play Area
Farnham play park is designed by local children and will include a roundabout, rocking horse, slide, cradle swing, flat swing and a 1 bay 2 seat-swing. The project will also provide seating within the play area to allow parents/carers to enjoy the pleasant environment whilst supervising their children. The Parish Council intend to enhance it by providing a suitable entrance to the area, that is DDA compliant, and new benches/fencing to encourage visitors of all ages to enjoy the local ambience.
The following outcomes are expected from the implementation of this project:
- the number of children and young people attracted to energetic play and engaged in a wide range of play experiences at this play area will increase from 0 to 32 by the end of the grant period.
- 20 children and young people will demonstrate increased confidence and self worth through the provision of free play spaces.
- 8 of the children and young people will become involved in the design, use, operation and maintenance of the play area by the end of the grant period.
The project is estimated to cost £39,267 with £30,967 coming from BLF and the remaining £8,300 raised by the parish council. This project is set to start in September 2007.
