How much benefit will I get?
Housing Benefit 2006/07
Housing Benefit provides help with rent. Maximum Housing Benefit would be 100% of the eligible rent, less any deductions for non-dependents. The minimum amount of Housing Benefit entitlement is 50 pence per week.
Eligible rent is the amount paid (where reasonable) less deductions for ineligible items such as heating, lighting, water rates, etc.
In the event of an unreasonably high level of rent being charged, or if your accommodation is deemed to be too large to suit your needs a restriction will be applied to the eligible rent. Further information can be found on the Rent Service website.
You can check to see if your accommodation is deemed to be too large by clicking here
