Building Conservation & Design

The Environment team has an extremely broad remit. For a more comprehensive list of the areas of work in building conservation and design , please follow the drop down menu on the left hand side of the page.

We will strive to offer at all times:

  • An accessible, informed and informative service to all across the district.
  • A first port of call for advice.
  • Relevant channels, whether through brochures, internet or face-to-face, to promote our services
  • Providing advice and guidance to developers, communities, individual members of the public, councillors and officers of the Council.
  • Working in partnership with external organisations and authorities
  • Target: To respond to letters and memoranda within ten working days, to answer telephone calls within fifteen seconds or provide a voicemail service, to provide officers and councillors with a response to consultations within ten working days.

Due to the nature of our work, core officers are frequently out of the office. However emails and telephone messages will be responded to as soon as is practically possible, in most cases on the next working day.

If you would like to speak to a member of the Environment team please contact them on 01258 484212 or email environment@north-dorset.gov.uk

Contact Environment at North Dorset District Council on (01258) 484212 or email environment@north-dorset.gov.uk  for more information on this service.

Please note: We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls, and would advise that your enquiry may take up to five working days to process. Thank you for your patience.
