Our Services
We aim to deliver an efficient and effective service for the provision of advice and information. A principal duty is the processing of planning and related applications and appeals, as well as securing compliance with planning legislation. We aim to do this in a fair, open and inclusive manner whilst being sensitive to the varying needs and aspirations of our different customer groups.
The key elements of our service are:-
- Provision of information and access to planning records;

- Free pre-application advice on building and other planning projects;
|
- Deciding planning and other applications following consultation with the community and specialists;
|
- Public speaking at Development Control Committee;
|
- Supporting the Council’s decision when an appeal is lodged;
|
- Investigating and resolving possible breaches of planning control.
