Dorset Minerals and Waste Local Plan
As Minerals and Waste Planning authority, Dorset County Council is responsible for the preparation of minerals and waste planning documents for the North Dorset District Council area. The introduction of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 has resulted in the requirement for the Minerals and Waste Local Plans to be replaced by the Minerals and Waste Development Framework. Work on this is currently being undertaken on behalf of North Dorset District Council by the County Council with this Council’s input.
The Dorset Minerals and Waste Local Plan, adopted in April 1999, is the current development plan for minerals developments within Dorset and the adjoining unitary Boroughs of Bournemouth and Poole. The waste policies within this plan were not saved and have been replaced by policies in the Waste Local Plan that was adopted in July 2006.
Both of these documents and information on the production of the Minerals and Waste Development Framework can be found by following the link to Dorset County Council’s Minerals and Waste Planning Policy page.
