Persons aged 18 or 19 for whom Child Benefit is payable

All persons in respect of whom child benefit is payable are disregarded for Council Tax discount purposes. The majority of persons covered by this are under 19 and normally attending a qualifying course of education.

Please contact the Council to request a claim application form. The form should be completed in full and returned to the Council with a copy of the letter from the DWP Child Benefit department confirming the award of child benefit. Following approval, a revised bill of account will be issued.
