Religious Communities

You will be disregarded if you are a member of a religious community, provided that you depend on the community for your material needs and have no personal income or capital. (This will still apply if you receive income from a pension or pensions from a former job.)

Only members of religious communities whose main work is prayer, contemplation, the relief of suffering, education or any combination of these are counted.

Please contact the Council to request a claim application form. The form should be completed in full and returned to the Council with a letter confirming your status as a member of the religious community from a leader of that community. Following approval, a revised bill of account will be issued.
