Home Swap / Mutual Exchanges

'Home Swap' was a national scheme that allowed tenants who wish to move between local council areas to 'swap' homes, with their landords consent. However the organisation that operated the scheme had their contract terminated by the Department of Communities and Local Government and there is currently no replacement scheme. However the government website does give links to other mostly free services and some general advice about mutual exchanges.

If you are interested in finding a Mutual Exchange in the North Dorset area you can place adverts in the local newsagents, or local papers

Alternatively you can visit the Council Exchange website which covers most towns in the UK

Please call Housing Advice and Allocations at North Dorset District Council on (01258) 454111 or e-mail us at housingcs@north-dorset.gov.uk for more details of this service.
