Housing Policy

The Council has a 'fit for purpose' Housing Strategy 2006-2009 which outlines it's three strategic priorities of affordable housing, homelessness and vulnerable households and private sector housing.

The Council also possesses a Private Sector Housing Strategy. This outlines how we will meet our private sector renewal objectives of:

  1. Increasing the proportion of private housing that is of a decent standard.
  2. Increasing the capacity of the private rented sector as a housing option.
  3. Enabling elderly, vulnerable and disabled people to live in comfort in their own homes.
  4. Eradicating fuel poverty.
