Clean Up Blandford Campaign

More than a bin full?

The BLUE bin for household rubbish should be sufficient to hold two weeks worth of rubbish provided the householder has recycled and composted as much as possible.

If you are producing so much waste it will not fit into the wheeled bin, even after you have recycled as much as you can, there are several options available to you:-

Take any additional waste to the nearest Household Recycling Centres

Blandford, Shaftesbury or Sherborne.

Rent an additional wheeled bin from the Council.

The annual cost to rent an additional 140L bin is £39.00.

This gives you an additional 140 Litres of waste a fortnight.

The rented wheeled bin should be placed next to your blue bin for collection on the normal day.

Please contact us for a form or download from here

140L Blue Bin with Red Lid

The annual cost to rent an alternative 240L bin is £27.50

Blue Bin with Red Lid - Lid only

Purchase special Council blue additional rubbish sacks.

These will be the ONLY sacks that will be collected in addition to the wheeled bin.

The cost of the sacks is £1.00 per bag.

Please click here for details of local retailers stocking sacks or contact the Council

Please note if there are five or more people permanently living in a property or a member of the family has a medical condition which means they generate more waste, the household may be eligible for a larger bin.
