Litter Bins and Street Litter
Litter Bins North Dorset District Council services litter bins throughout the district. Bins are emptied at various intervals i.e. daily, weekly, according to usage. The district council no longer provides dog bins, but residents may place dog waste in litter bins if suitably wrapped. If you wish to report an overflowing, damaged or missing bin use the contact details below. Link to information on Dog Waste Bins | |
Requests for New Bin
Members of the public, who wish to make a request for additional litter/dog bins to be installed, should speak to the relevant Town or Parish Council in the first instance. All requests are considered, however they will be subject to the availability of sufficient resources to either the District or Parish/Town Council to supply, install, empty and maintain the bin(s).
Street Litter and Dog Faeces
North Dorset District Council will remove litter and dog faeces from adopted footways, footpaths or public open spaces. Link to further information on Dog Waste Bins
Most footways, footpaths and verges in town and village centres are litter picked or swept on a regular basis. The remainder are cleansed when litter problems come to the attention of the council.
Syringes
The council removes syringes from the highway and public places. We do not remove them from private land. Please report any syringes found in public places using the contact details below and we will arrange for them to be removed.
