| The new fitness facility at the Shaftesbury Leisure Centre (Inspire) is now taking in new members. Featuring a state-of-the-art split level fitness suite and dance studio, the facility is more than twice the size of the previous suite and includes an aerobic studio. The fitness suite is equipped with a vast range of equipment and there is a dedicated spinning room to introduce Shaftesbury to the latest cycling to music craze. |

| YET more changes in the way central government funds councils mean that North Dorsets grant has effectively stood still since last years allocation. Our best information at this stage shows that core funding is down £500,000 to £3.5 million and additional subsidies are up by fractionally over £500,000. (71k) |
