Why CLARENCE? CLARENCE stands for Customer Lighting And Road ENquiry Centre.
The first CLARENCE Call Centre was set up in Edinburgh. Dorset County Council's CLARENCE Call Centre has been running since 1999.
All road, pavement, and street lighting defects can be reported easily through one office. Callers from mobiles or outside Dorset should phone 01258 458140.
The CLARENCE Call Centre is open between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, and from 9.00am to 4.00pm on Friday.
Defect messages are passed straight through to the correct technical teams within Dorset County Council, as well as Weymouth and Portland Borough Council and Christchurch Borough Council.
