There are several ways to dispose of commercial waste:
Commercial Waste Collection
Make arrangements with a suitable contractor who is licensed to take away and dispose of commercial/trade waste.
There are a number of local contractors and details of these can be found in the Yellow Pages or Thomson Local under 'Waste Disposal Services' or use the Environment Agency waste directory Web site www.wastedirectory.org.uk.

Delivery to a Commercial Waste Site
There are a number of sites either managed by contractors on behalf of Dorset County Council or privately operated that accept trade waste and larger loads for an appropriate charge.
Contact the Environment Agency on 08708 506506 for details of your nearest commercial waste disposal facility or use their waste directory Web site www.wastedirectory.org.uk.
Recycle Commercial Waste
There are also many opportunities for businesses in Dorset to reduce and recycle their waste. This can often lead to cost savings when compared to traditional waste disposal routes.

North Dorset District Council provides a sacks/stickers services: and a wheeled bin service:
Orange commercial waste sacks and/or stickers Commercial waste sacks can be purchased by phoning customer contact on 01258 454111or emailing customerservices@north-dorset.gov.ukand placing an order. For businesses who have lots of cardboard boxes commercial waste stickers can be purchases and attached to the boxes. (Minimum order is 50). To avoid the possibility of injury to NDDC staff, and any unnecessary spillage on the highway please note that under Health & Safety guidelines and the Environmental Protection Act, the permitted weight of each refuse sack should be a maximum of 25kg in weight. NDDC Commercial Waste Services cannot accept:
- Liquid waste;
- Clinical waste - no sharps or syringes;
- Raw meat/fish products;
- Solvents, acids, alkalines, photochemicals, pesticides, fluorescent tubes and other mercury–containing waste;
- Discarded equipment containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s);
- Paint, inks, engine oil, adhesives resins and detergents containing dangerous substances; Cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines;
- Lead batteries, discarded electrical equipment containing hazardous components.

Duty of Care Legislation

Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group
Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) exists to provide farmers, landowners and our other clients with the best opportunity for environmental gain through cost effective, quality solutions. FWAG has 66 local groups throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with over 120 Farm Conservation Advisers and Project Officers.
FWAG provides farmers and landowners with practical advice on making adjustments to farm operations and enhancing farm features in order to support wildlife, landscape, archaeology, access and other conservation issues. FWAG also operates a farm plastic recycling scheme
