Car Batteries

Car batteries can be deposited at all Household Recycling Centres. The batteries are taken away for safe and proper recycling.


Mobile Phones And Their Batteries

There are a number of charities and companies that accept mobile phones for reuse and recycling.

  • Tesco’s accept mobile phones (see in store for detail)
  • Action Aid recycle old mobile phones & printer cartridges to help third world poverty, for further details visit www.actionaidrecycling.org.uk
  • There are also lots of companies that will pay you for your old mobile
  • Some telecommunications companies operate a take-back scheme for redundant equipment


Household Batteries (e.g. from cameras, torches etc)

Dry batteries including most of the normal household batteries for torches, toys and electronic devises (computers etc), and rechargeable batteries can be disposed of at all Household Recycling Centres. Look out for the new green battery-shaped recycling containers.
