Shaftesbury District Task Force
The Shaftesbury District Task Force was set up in 2001 as a community partnership
that could serve as a focus for the delivery of a community plan for the area. It works in many
different ways to ensure that local community needs are identified and met; sharing information and
networking with local groups, and ultimately delivering a robust community plan that will have a positive
impact on the area.
It is established as a private company, limited by guarantee, and is supported by
Shaftesbury Town Council and North Dorset District Council. In addition the Task Force has the dedicated
support of a Community Partnership Manager whose prime role is to encourage active participation by
local people interested in implementing local actions.
