Sturminster Leisure Centre offers many facilities for all the family. The Inspire fitness suite offers tailored programmes to meet your needs. There are a variety of day and evening aerobics classes for all abilities, together with badminton, table tennis, trampolining and other sports hall activities.

During the school holidays the children can find plenty to entertain themselves including football coaching, arts and crafts, cycling proficiency, tri golf, short tennis and bouncy castle sessions.

Statement from Sturminster Newton High School

"Members of the local community will know that the future of the Leisure Centre has been a concern for some time. The North Dorset District Council (NDDC) and the Dorset County Council (DCC) have agreed to, in partnership, seek to find a Trust Company to take over the building and its management as a business venture. Two time periods have been agreed to see if it is possible to find a Trust Company, by September 2008, or if this is not possible, by March 2009.

If a Trust Company cannot be found by March 2009 Sturminster Newton High School will seek to apply to manage the Leisure Centre for the local community, with the support of the community and Sturminster Newton Town Council."
