North Dorset District Council provides the following services:
Orange trade waste sacks or stickers
Trade waste sacks (general waste) and stickers (to attach to boxes etc) can be purchased by phoning customer contact or emailing waste@north-dorset.gov.uk and placing an order. (Minimum order is 50). |  |

Trade waste bins
Subject to suitable access and storage the Council can provide three different sized wheeled refuse bins. The frequency of collection is tailored to your needs. Click here for sizes and prices of wheeled bins. |  | |
Trade Waste Services cannot accept:
- Liquid waste;
- Clinical waste - no sharps or syringes;
- Raw meat/fish products;
- Solvents, acids, alkalines, photochemicals, pesticides, fluorescent tubes and other mercury–containing waste;
- Discarded equipment containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s);
- Paint, inks, engine oil, adhesives resins and detergents containing dangerous substances; Cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines;
- Lead batteries, discarded electrical equipment containing hazardous components.
There are several ways to dispose of this type of waste:
- There are a number of sites either managed by contractors on behalf of Dorset County Council or privately operated that accept trade waste at an appropriate charge. See Trade Waste Disposal Sites.
- Contact a waste collection and disposal services - see Yellow Pages or telephone directory.
- Recycling - There are many opportunities for your business to reduce and recycle your waste in North Dorset. Recycling can often help save you money when compared to traditional waste disposal. See Recycling for Businesses.
Duty of Care Legislation

Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group
Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) exists to provide farmers, landowners and our other clients with the best opportunity for environmental gain through cost effective, quality solutions. FWAG has 66 local groups throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with over 120 Farm Conservation Advisers and Project Officers.
FWAG provides farmers and landowners with practical advice on making adjustments to farm operations and enhancing farm features in order to support wildlife, landscape, archaeology, access and other conservation issues. FWAG also operates a farm plastic recycling scheme
